Seychelles

Seychelles is a hundred islands in the Indian Ocean with white sand beaches, granite boulders, and turquoise water. It costs a fortune but looks stunning. Honeymoon destination vibes fill the air but it’s worth it if you can afford it. Island hopping between Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue is the move. A week gives you time to relax properly.

Seychelles Mahe Island

Mahe is the main island with the airport and capital Victoria. The beaches here look excellent. Beau Vallon is the most developed stretch. Anse Intendance has strong waves and dramatic scenery. The interior has jungle hiking and viewpoints. The island is small enough to drive around in a day. Victoria is tiny for a capital with a market and clocktower copied from London. You can see the whole town in an hour walking around.

Seychelles Praslin and La Digue

Praslin has Anse Lazio which ranks as one of the world’s best beaches. The photos don’t exaggerate how beautiful it looks. Vallee de Mai has the coco de mer palms with the giant nuts that look obscene. UNESCO lists it and you need a few hours to explore. The whole island feels relaxed. Rent a car to beach hop easily. La Digue is the smallest main island with no cars allowed. Bikes and ox carts move people around. Anse Source d’Argent has the famous granite boulders and shallow water. It’s the postcard Seychelles beach everyone photographs. The whole island takes an hour to bike around. Stay overnight because day trippers leave by afternoon and the island empties out.

Seychelles Water Activities and Costs

Snorkeling and diving work excellently here. Sea turtles, rays, tropical fish swim everywhere. The water stays warm and clear year round. Most beaches have good snorkeling right off the sand without boats. Dive shops on all three main islands offer trips to deeper spots. Whale sharks pass through October to November. Food is Creole with fish, rice, curries mixing African and Asian styles. Everything costs more because imports bring most supplies. Self-catering helps save money if you cook. Takeaway places charge less than sit-down restaurants. Accommodation costs a lot no matter what. Budget places exist but expect to pay more than most destinations.
